i am not able to edit my webpage through frontpage, whenever i tried to save contents i am getting error, server has not been installed with frontpage extension contact ur internet service provider or server administrator, i have checked with my server admin where i have barrowed space for web host he says all settings working fine, i am using BSNL broadband connnection, do i need any other settings,

A Dynamic or Static site.
If its dynamic then you got to update that perticular file. For instance a text file or so.
But static, you got to simply replace the old file with the new one. You could simply try saving it "Save as".

I had my email address on my old website and got lots of spam. I was told that a contact form is the best way to prevent spam so I've created one for my new site. I'm looking at making a website with a members area that users would subscribe to get access to. I've trawled the internet and can't find anything I like - looking for easy software to manage this for me. The sort of thing with paypal integration :D Preferably free.

I'm new to PHP and MySQL and I'm trying to get a basic test to work. I can see the html but the PHP does not appear. I know how to save it in php format and upload it to my website, but I still get a blank screen when I visit that page. Any suggestions or ideas of what the problem might be? 1. Make sure the webserver supports php
2. Make sure your file extension is php and not html (apache doesn't parse html for php by default)
This shouldn't be an issue with php, for for correctness, you should add end paragraph tags (%26lt;/p%26gt;).
Other than that, it looks all right, so it must be one of the first two suggestions.

Well the first question should be: is php running on the webserver? If php is not running it can not parse your file and generate output.

1. Make sure the webserver supports php
2. Make sure your file extension is php and not html (apache doesn't parse html for php by default)
This shouldn't be an issue with php, for for correctness, you should add end paragraph tags (%26lt;/p%26gt;).

You must always enter in some fashion, be it electronically, or by purchasing a ticket, or by writing down your name, address and phone number and sliding it into a box collecting entries.

Don't be one of the thousands of dupes who get fooled by these schemes. i am not able to edit my webpage through frontpage, whenever i tried to save contents i am getting error, server has not been installed with frontpage extension contact ur internet service provider or server administrator, i have checked with my server admin where i have barrowed space for web host he says all settings working fine, i am using BSNL broadband connnection, do i need any other settings,

But static, you got to simply replace the old file with the new one. You could simply try saving it "Save as".

No, there's no list available for what you want. Some ISPs dont "play nice" with Yahoo. AOL, SBC, earthlink are a few that have problems. Some Hotmail users do but my HM account is fairly trouble-free.

If the user has to register, they register but before being granted privileages I have to validate them. When the user does login I want them to be taken to their own specialized page that was made for them by me. They will have downloads and other stuff on their page that are specific for them.
Is this possible? Please let me know someone! Dot Net Nuke's support system is crap and so is my web host!!! I just need to know if I need to find another software or how to do it with this one. Thanks!

The problem is that DNN doesn't really differentiate content based on a User ID. If a user is registered, they can access any module that allows for it. You'd have to manually add them to an access list of the repository module.
You could, however, alter the repository module to display downloads based on the logged-in User.

Do you need to pay to change the theme (Other than the default choices) of your Wordpress account.?
I have a free account on wordpress, and i went to themes.wordpress.org to look for some new themes to use. I downloaded one and the Wordpress 2.15 or whatever folder and unzipped the theme folder into the themes folder in the wordpress folder.
I don't have a web host or anything like that. So do I have to pay to change my Wordpress theme (using something other than then the default ones under presentation)?

Or, you could get your own domain, install WordPress, and use any themes and plug-ins that you like! (That's what I did.)

Is there a program to buy? My web host has Coffeecup software which is not user friendly at all. I want to have people upload photos, create profiles. maybe even a point system like yahoo answers. please help.

I am at university, i have to upload a website I develop as an assignment, it will include server scripting. I need to know if geocities supports this or do I need to look for a web host who does?
